It’s my great pleasure to be writing for Fresh Magazine as the Women’s Wellness Editor. Nothing excites me more than shining light on all things wellness and never has it been more important to understand and practice the hundreds of wellness hygiene habits that comprise it.
“Without pressure, there are no diamonds.”
Thomas Carlyle
According to the World Health Organization, wellness is not described as the absence of disease. Instead, wellness is the daily practice of what you eat, how you move and how you manage your emotional head/heart space. It’s how you show up every day.
I call these practices the 3 E’s of Wellness:
1.Eating Clean
2.Exercise
3.Emotional Self-care
Together these efforts give you the greatest chance at living in a state in which your body can withstand the pressures of everyday life, something that feels highly relevant to our modern world, especially with the events of 2020 in the rear view mirror.
Combined efforts at nourishing your inner physical house through Eating Clean, moving it effectively through something I call High Value Exercise, and caring for your Emotional self, work together to make you a resilient human being able to withstand the hits life will deliver. COVID, loss, pain, heartache, illness, in short, the human condition, are just some of those hits.
Over the coming months, I pledge to deliver the information you need to support your efforts in feeling, looking, and living well. With your wellness as my focus, I will explore the hundreds of wellness hygiene habits available to yield a diamond. That diamond is You.
Together with the other editors and contributors for Fresh Magazine, I believe you have a powerful tool to achieve just that – wellness on your terms here in this space.
I’d like to start by offering an insight into wellness that has nothing to do with calories or lifting weights. Consider that emotional self-care is the seed of your well-being. Acknowledging, understanding, and being able to regulate your head/heart space is the life force of who you are.
Gone are the days of simply wanting to fit into skinny jeans or a size 2 dress. Vogue magazine has banned the use of the word “skinny!” Can I get a “Hell yess!!”
Today’s wellness minded woman wants to be strong, healthy, able minded and able bodied so that she can show up fully in her fierce glory as the woman she is and was always meant to be. The scope of her wellness far surpasses yesterday’s standards. She is being called forward to become her most powerful Future Self. Her time is now. Your time is now.
Yes, it’s going to take a little work, but it will be worth it!
Please reach out with your questions. I will answer.
Please reach out with your dreams. I will support you.
Love and light,
PS. I have a lot of free resources to get you started, no matter where in your wellness journey you are. You can find them all right here.
