Bridal Trends for 2022 are very romantic this year. We are seeing all the pretty things, a year of love and romance.
I reached out to some of the very best in the wedding biz to create one of our favourite looks this year.
Our look this year featured our gorgeous model Navneet @navneet.clifford represented by Edge Agency @edgeagency
Photography Team MJ + Co

@mjand.co are professional wedding photographers and I reached out to owner Matt Ramage to make this bridal shoot vision come true! The set was gorgeous and even a painted backdrop was in place for our creative shoot.
I chatted with Matt about what his team is seeing for bridal trends this year.
“What we are seeing for 2022 is brides who want full documentation of their wedding day. They are looking for photographers and videographers who can see their day and show it in a beautiful way. They want the candid moments, but also the beautiful portraits. They want the highlight film, but also the full-length ceremony and reception films. They want it all captured, and don’t want to compromise. We’ve never had so much demand for our full-service packages, and are looking forward to telling their stories.”
For this creative photoshoot, I wanted to create an amazing team of professionals in the industry to celebrate this year and what’s to come. With our industry taking a huge hit during the pandemic, it’s time for all of us to create again!
I can always count on my super talented friend Rachel Stange of @freebirdhairdesign to come up with the most beautiful bridal hair. She is an amazing hairstylist, and she specializes in and educates on bridal hair.
“For 2022 bridal hair trends I’m seeing lots of change! Brides are embracing a more minimalist feel with soft wave down styles, middle parts and smoother texture in up-styles/half-up styles. We’re seeing up-do’s sit a little higher than the usual low textured bun, think high ballerina bun or more mid-height with lots of soft, airy texture. Ponytails have also been making a fun splash in the wedding scene with lots of different options in heights and lengths! Hair accessories are a great option to add a little pop in your style and there are so many beautiful ones to choose from! Whether you choose a more modern minimalist approach or a soft romantic and airy feel, you can’t go wrong with the 2022 bridal hair trends- it’s a refreshing change that still has a forever classic feel.”

And this dress … and the sleeves! I think we are all in awe of this gorgeous bridal gown. I had a vision in mind and again can always count on owner and friend Aimee of @unveileddressco to find us the perfect gown.
Here is what Aimee is seeing for bridal trends this year
“All things girlie!
We have been on a very bohemian trend which has had simple silhouettes, natural fabrics and bold patterns at the forefront. We are seeing a shift to the more feminine side. Bows, glitter and fuller skirts are making a comeback. The earthy details from the boho vibes are sticking around but in the way of 3D florals and leaves along with bishop sleeves. There is a pop of the 90’s vibes as well. Gloves and headbands are big in accessories as well as pearl accents. Corset bodices are gaining popularity again, in all silhouettes from fitted to ball gowns.”

We all love the beautiful blue trend we are seeing in florals and I reached out to Michelle’s Flowers @michelleflowers and she created the most beautiful bouquet for our bridal shoot.
Here’s what Michelle is seeing for floral trends this year.
“This season I am seeing a lovely shift from the heavy greenery to more of a floral dominant look for decor. Greenery is still a hot item but becoming more of an accent to the flowers. I am finding couples are stepping away from the ‘traditional’ floral items that you would expect to see at a wedding and are choosing intentional floral arrangements and designs that are specific to their style, their venue and space.
One thing I am totally in love with for this upcoming season is texture! You will see a season full of non-traditional floral choices that mimic a garden style and all of its beauty. Dainty-sized flowers are very popular this year! Colour-wise you will be seeing a lot of dreamy white weddings, which is no surprise. Blush is another popular colour. And then there will be lots of the soft tones of blue that are a really lovely touch to this upcoming wedding season.”

For bridal makeup trends this year, I am seeing brides wanting pretty soft makeup.
With the lifting of masks in so many parts of the world, we can now see everyone’s beautiful faces. Being a makeup artist for over 20 years one of my favourite looks is a smokey eye with wispy lashes, pink cream blush and soft pinky nude lip.

I love creating a beautiful skin finish so that skin looks like skin (as it should).
For our model Navneet’s makeup, I wanted this very romantic makeup look. I love creating makeup for my brides that give the “glowing from within” look. Bridal makeup should be classic and timeless. I am however also seeing “anything goes” with makeup this year and as it should be!
It’s all about love and romance this year, let’s celebrate 2022 with so much LOVE.
