A few years ago I made the decision that it was time to take my personal health and wellness journey to the next level. I have always taken care of myself but was missing structure and consistency and really had no clue how to workout properly.
I was introduced by my client to personal trainer Marie Robertson, and my fitness and wellness journey with Marie began. After four years of personal training with Marie, it’s been a game changer for my life!
Marie Robertson is an ISSA Elite Trainer and holds certifications as a Personal Trainer Specialist, Specialist in Exercise Therapy and Specialist in Fitness Nutrition. She owns and operates a boutique training studio in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and is the founder of Transform YXE Transformation Challenge.
Marie lives in the beautiful city of Saskatoon along with her husband and three children. Marie Robertson loves changing the lives of men and women by teaching them how to achieve long term results through flexible dieting, macro tracking, strength training, lifestyle management and mindset coaching.

Marie Robertson created Transform YXE which is an online coaching program that encompasses all components of lasting change. “Our mission is to create a community of resourceful men and women who are armed with the education and tools, not only to set goals but to also achieve and maintain them. We use our expertise and experience in training, nutrition, fat loss, habits and mindset to coach our clients to success”.
Marie and I regularly chat during our workouts and I wanted to share the knowledge and program she provides to anyone wanting to start on their health + fitness journey! What’s even cooler is that anyone can be apart of Marie’s tribe, since she has created an online program.
Here’s a little Q + A with me and Marie!
HOLLY: Marie, I have loved working out with you for the last four years. You are the best personal trainer and I’m so lucky to have found you! I’m wondering what your advice would be for others on how to motivate yourself after not being in the gym?
MARIE: One great way to stay motivated is to build a habit tracker to track progress. Planning to go to the gym 4 days per week and seeing it marked off in your habit tracker or calendar keeps you motivated and tied to the process.
HOLLY: How did you get started in your personal training career?
MARIE: My introduction to the fitness industry started on stage as a fitness competitor. I loved the challenge and process of personal transformation so much it inspired me to become a personal trainer. I have learned so much along the way and absolutely love helping women change the health of both their mind, their bodies and most importantly their relationship with their self.
HOLLY: I love that you started your transformation challenges. What inspired you to start your transformation challenges?
MARIE: Our transformation started in the studio as a way to teach the girls how to tie into a process that they could execute long term. We wanted to have a way to debunk all of the false information out there about dieting for fat loss being extremely restrictive. I believe we have accomplished this and so much more.
HOLLY: Is the transformation challenge for both male + female and for all age groups?
MARIE : My husband Dave and I have teamed up to offer a great service to both men and women of all ages. In our most recent transformation we had an Individual in her 70’s! So cool!!
HOLLY: What are your favourite supplements?
MARIE: I have been an athlete with Magnum Nutraceuticals for about 8 years! My favourite magnum supplement is Primer vitamin pks.
HOLLY: You are such an inspiration to so many women, what’s your best advice for healthy living?
MARIE : Small changes compounded equals massive results. You do not have to completely overhaul your life in one day. Implement one small change, when that becomes easy, add another small change, then another…
HOLLY: Can you tell us more about your next transformation, what’s involved and how to register?

MARIE: Registration for our September challenge is open. This challenge includes :
- 12 week training guide
- 12 week nutrition guide
- Personalized macros + adjustments
- Fat loss guide
- Education sessions via zoom
- Weekly challenges and more
You can find more info and register at www.marierobertsonfitness.com
HOLLY: Why is it so important to do strength training?
MARIE: Strength training increases lean body mass and bone density which decline as we age. It also improves our relationship with ourself and others, decreases stress and improves our bodies ability to utilize carbohydrates.
HOLLY: What is the most effective way to see success in the gym?
MARIE: Consistency + monitoring progression
HOLLY: Does the transformation include a diet plan and recipes?
MARIE: Yes! We do include a diet plan however we teach individuals how to confidently make their own nutrition choices through tracking their macros. This allows each person to incorporate foods of their personal choosing which equals long term satisfaction and long term success.
We also have a PDF recipe guide which includes some of our families favourite meal ideas.
HOLLY: Who inspires you and what keeps you motivated?
MARIE: Oh gosh, I am honestly so inspired and motivated daily by the women I coach. They are busy being movers, shakers and making things happen in their careers but they are also moms, wives, daughters and friends. Each of these individuals has made a choice to take care of their health and fitness. They know absolutely, by taking care of themselves, they are able to take much better care of their loved ones.
