Michelle Chapin is the passionate and energetic founder and SHE-EO at Campy Home.
As a little girl, I always knew I would grow up to be my own boss one day. Flash forward twenty years, with lots of trials, tribulations, and tears. The road to owning my own company, Campy Home, was a bumpy but entirely necessary journey. Through all the tough times, the moments of asking myself “what am I doing?”, stepping out of my comfort zone, and taking risks, I helped myself to gain the confidence and drive to run my own company, on my terms, with my vision in mind.
When I purchased Campy Home a few years back, I struggled with imposter syndrome. It was my first time investing a lot of money into my own business, I was new to the world of candle making, and I had this company that didn’t feel like me. I felt lost and way in over my head. I made it through my first year of business and made big goals to really make this company my own. The past year has been all about injecting myself into my brand and recreating something I could be proud of. With the help of Ruby & Parcel Co, I have completely rebranded Campy into a fun, cheerful, and energetic brand, just like myself!
Campy has been able to do a lot in a year. We’ve donated to various charities such as Dress for Success, Rainbow Railroad, and Interval House of Ottawa. We’ve created over seven new products that have been a huge hit. We’re finally owning our social media game and establishing an engaging presence online. It’s been a big year for us, and I think the coming year will prove to be even better.
Oftentimes I’ve found the recurring message in life is that we go to our job every day, and it doesn’t matter if we like it or not. It’s a part of life, we must do it. I refuse to accept that for myself. I believe that we all deserve to work at a job that we love. A job that ignites our passions and makes us feel fulfilled. Find what you love and run with it.
