Q. When you first started your career, how did you know you were ready and what made you start?
I had to sell the first home I ever owned in Canada to be able to subsidise my maternity leave pay to stay home with my son. The real estate agent I had chosen was so incompetent and offered next to zero client service that I ended up firing him and selling the home myself to a friend in a private sale. I had extensive customer service experience through working in high-end retail stores as a sales manager. I had the epiphany then. What if I could use my customer service experience and sell homes differently than what I had just experienced. That is when I decided to get licensed and use the year I had as maternity leave to change careers. That determination of having to make it in one year or go back to my old job with the corporate blade on my neck, plus long work days not being able to look after my son gave me the fuel I needed. I got licensed and received training by the best in the industry at RE/MAX Crest in Vancouver. I had to make it, failing was not an option. That first year, 16 years ago, I was the Rookie of The Year for RE/MAX Crest!
Q. What is your favourite thing about what you do in your career and why?
There is nothing more satisfying than finding the perfect home for a first-time home buyer or a family. I also love the way we can use art and staging to transform ordinary spaces to extraordinary and enticing. It is always very satisfying when the sellers come home and see their place transformed after we have staged it. I love it when I get that text or call from my sellers saying WE LOVE IT! Can we keep everything and stay?
Q. Do you have a mantra or phrase you live by? What is it?
Yes. Gratitude. Starting each day with gratitude. It is the most important thing I do.
“Acknowledging the good you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance”
Eckhart Tolle
Q. What is your number one priority when it comes to your career and daily work?
My number one priority is always the client and their best interest. They trust me with often their most expensive assets. I take that responsibility and my duty to them very seriously. In my business one bad transaction or experience can be very costly. Reputation is everything.

Q. What keeps you motivated on a daily basis?
My family and my responsibilities. I am lucky to have a few people in my life that I take care of. Success in my business, guarantees that I can continue to take care of people I love that rely on me. I know what I am capable of achieving and my expectations of myself are pretty high. I compete to be the better version of myself every day.
