Janet is a naturally curious creator, photographer, and photo educator. She has a knack for making every person she meets feel welcome by her genuine, bubbly nature.
Hello! So great to meet you! One of my greatest joys is to help others see beauty in themselves and the world around them. I know I am here to show people, young and old, that they belong and they matter.
Photography is my gateway to inspire others to know how amazing they are. Whether I am behind the lens taking photos or in front of a group teaching them how to take their own, my purpose is to prompt individuals to see themselves and their surroundings in the most positive and interesting light (figuratively and literally, of course).
I love, love, love spending my days with other people. They fascinate me, and I love their stories!
You will often see me trekking out in Alberta’s outdoors, encouraging families to be their best, imperfect selves doing what they love together. Or you will find me seeking eclectic gathering places with gorgeous light to capture the true essence of family. My mission is to have families say “that is so us!” every time they see their gallery. And they do.
As an entrepreneur, I’m equally motivated to amplify business owners’ passions for their work and embody the essence of what they do and how they do it. Nobody wants “just another headshot”. With my eye for all things that feel natural, I capture the spirit and spark that fires them up!
And, oh man, nothing fires me up more than witnessing a kid’s world open up before them as they connect to themselves, others, and the universe around them with a camera in hand. Through Kids’ Photography Academy, I encourage youth to see usual things in unusual ways, to see beauty in the different and unique, and ultimately to share their own voice in the process. Bringing kids together to celebrate their art, adventures, lives, and each other is a mission of inclusivity and self-love that is so important.
Photography is my channel to fun, healing, joy, and connection. I am so grateful for it. Helping someone else feel connected to their own story is what matters most.
