Mariah Owen is a retired world champion athlete turned award-winning actor, filmmaker, writer, and entrepreneur, who founded her boutique production company, GTE Productions when she was twenty-one. She’s been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest names in the biz and had films premiere at festivals around the world such as SXSW, Cannes & Sitges.
When not making movies, I can be found chasing after my very sassy and beautiful rescue puppy named Mammoth, named after one of my favorite places to ski, Mammoth Mountain. She has helped me during one of the biggest transitions of my life, career, and the 2020 pandemic.
I believe in being good to people and helping them shine their brightest. I like to do this by holding space, reminding them of their strengths, and giving support to them to keep moving forward. I am definitely a hard-working individual yet love collaborating and being inspired by others on a team.

The hardest part about getting started is just that – starting. I honestly ran before I could walk out of necessity to get things made with my prod-co. I wasn’t getting the opportunities I craved, so I decided to make them. On the tough days, I go back to that moment and think about all of the awesome people who helped me get here. My friends, mentors, and family continue to believe in me, even on the days that I don’t believe in myself. I am so grateful for them and their unwavering support.
As a storyteller, I am used to creative blocks, my remedy is to get outside in nature or do an activity that I enjoy without any type of judgement. I calm my mind and find that’s when inspiration sparks. Another remedy is to just do the damn thing. Discipline is not a gift bestowed to some of us; it is something we must fight to achieve!
My mantra when things get tough is “everything will always work out for me.” I hope you’ll use this mantra too and know that you can achieve anything when you work really hard and are kind to others.
