Jen founder of Hux, is a problem solver with an insatiable desire to inspire others to chase their dreams as she chases hers.
If you could give your past self some advice, what would you tell you?
Your self-talk is the strongest determining factor in how your life will turn out. You have to manage your thoughts like a full-time job. Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of expectation. If you want to be successful you have to push past your doubts & fears otherwise it will hold you back.
When you first started your career, how did you know you were ready and what made you start?
When I first started my career, I was in my early 20’s, I was filled with self-doubt and uncertainty. The one thing I did know, I felt my best when I was doing work that helped other people. I have taken roles throughout my career that afford me the opportunity to lead and support others. When you do work that plays to your strengths, it won’t feel like work at all.
What or who has been your greatest influence in business?
A number of the greatest influences in business have been people I have never met. I have a passion for personal development and consume knowledge like air. I devour books and podcasts daily. The person who has inspired me to take a chance and chase my dreams is Sara Blakely. She is the founder of Spanx. I first heard her story on the podcast “How I build This” with Guy Raz.
What is your number one business goal to accomplish this year?
My team and I have invented the ultimate women’s performance underwear that solves a real problem. Our innovative insert*, constructed of bamboo charcoal, conceals what is commonly known as Camel Toe, wicks away moisture, eliminates odour and are comfy AF. Our goal is to get the product to as many women as possible to inspire them to move with more confidence and comfort.
*patent pending
