Q: What or who has been your greatest influence in business?
For me personally, while I have many people to be grateful for, I can say my uncle, Dr. Luckner Ulysse, has been my greatest influence in business. He is my biggest cheerleader and believes in my capabilities more than I do at times. He’s continued to teach and mentor me in the business field. He makes a difference in my career every single day.
Q: What is your number one business goal to accomplish this year?
Best Customer Service is one of my business goals to accomplish this year. Offering the best customer service means that consumers are happier with the overall experience of buying or using my products.
Q: What do you have going on that you’d like to share?
I created a company called: “Liliane & Co.” in 2020 when I recognized a need for natural skin care, cosmetics and hair care products in the beauty industry.
Nowadays in this industry, the idea of a perfect woman is illustrated by cosmetic surgery and injections. However, during several beauty contests, I have continuously proven the opposite. I have always shown my “natural“ look; my secret to having an original glow with beautiful skin without any surgical procedures. According to me, a woman’s real beauty is her original self, her natural beauty! In creating Liliane & Co., my philosophy was to provide vegan based, safe, organic, and user-friendly products for all women, preferably of age 25 and over. The key is to stay pretty and healthy while building self-confidence. Liliane & Co. has a portfolio of products that every woman needs, and I would like people to join and be part of living a healthy, confident, fabulous life, while using all natural and organic products.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years? How do you envision your future?
In five years I would like to recognized as one of the top black female entrepreneurs in Canada (owning multiple businesses, investing in real-estate, have shares in several companies). I’ve been fortunate to surround myself with fantastic successful people and want to be that person for others in the future.
Q: Do you have a mantra or phrase you live by? What is it?
My mantra I live by: ‘Tomorrow is created by what you do today.’
This is a mantra I use a lot in my business life, but it also applies to my life generally. It’s a reminder that I will only achieve the future I want if I start working for it today. Don’t just react to circumstances and get bogged down in what is immediately in front of you. Take time every day to do something that builds your future.
Q: What is your number one priority when it comes to your career and daily work?
My number one priority when it comes to my career and daily work is to look after myself. I look after my mental and physical health. I always make sure to make time for my family, my son and friends, get out of the office whenever I can. Also, living a fulfilled life by helping people around me to become better versions of themselves bit by bit.
Q: What keeps you motivated on a daily basis?
My son is my motivation to be the best version of myself. I want to be the best example that I can for him. My son is starting to develop into a little man and has a lot to learn about life. His father and I have worked hard over the years to instill good values in him. We have always been his cheerleader for anything that he wants to accomplish.
