Mary Painter is the sole designer and maker behind “Mavis & Mary Creative Arts”, named as a tribute to her late Mum, Daphne Mavis.
In my home studio, I work with semi-precious stones, sterling silver and copper to create by hand, beautiful and inspired easy to wear jewellery and home decor.
Normally and especially around the holidays, I would find myself at numerous local Arts Markets but as a person with immune disorders I have instead turned my focus for the time being to my Etsy store. I welcome you to stop by there for a visit and enjoy the eye candy!
We all know that time is a precious commodity that we could all use more of!
For me, as a Mum to an adult child on the Autism Spectrum and as a person with diverse health issues myself, I find that things like getting into my studio and carving out some time for myself often feel like luxuries instead of necessities but when I get there, it does me the world of good to enjoy my creative space.
As women, we are especially vulnerable to burn out as we give so much of our lives providing care, organizing, and guiding others.
So take the time for yourself, make it a priority instead of a luxury. Do something nice for yourself and yes… buy yourself that pretty piece of jewellery! Wink, wink 😉
