Mary Ann Morin, a successful CPA-CMA, CAFM is of Metis, Cree, Dene, French Ancestry, originally from Northern Saskatchewan, a mother of 4 and Kukum of 3 little wonderful people.
During the past 5 years I have continued to bring to the forefront the issues with Metis Nation Saskatchewan, not just for me but for the generations of our children. Although I struggled with being so public about my issues and the fact that I was removed from the Treasurer Role, which is a huge responsibility in ensuring funds are allocated to the needs of the Metis People, and supporting internal controls, I knew I had to be vocal to ensure that other marginalized people start to see the patterns of control and colonization of the patriarchal society. Having patience and the education to continue to work for change is important. We need this change as we head into a whole new era of climate change, diseases and as matriarchs we have to lead this change.
