Dr. John Esdaile is an internationally respected rheumatologist and research scientist who created Arthritis Research Canada.
I’ve trained at some of the best universities – from McGill to the University of Toronto to the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology in England to Yale. I’ve also had some amazing mentors like the grandfather of clinical epidemiology, the late Dr. Alvan Feinstein.
All my experience led me to start Arthritis Research Canada in 1999. I saw people suffering and wanted to find answers for them. Many don’t realize that arthritis is a serious and sometimes life-threatening disease or that it’s more than 100 diseases affecting people of all ages.
Today, Arthritis Research Canada has grown to be the largest clinical arthritis research organization in North America. We’re helping people with arthritis stay employed, start families, reduce pain, stay active and avoid life-threatening complications. I am honoured to be part of a team that’s working to change the lives of millions of Canadians.
