Pursuit 365 Day 24: Brittany Hardy

Brittany Hardy is an entrepreneur from Port Coquitlam B.C. who creates social media marketing plans for her clients around the world. She is a mother of four, is a true Gemini, and loves everything about personal development, lattes, and online shopping 😉

Q. If you could give your past self some advice, what would you tell yourself?

To just pay attention to what’s happening in the moment and enjoy the little things that bring me and those around me joy. I would tell myself to trust that the universe has my back and that I will ALWAYS find a way.

Q. Who or what has been my greatest influence in business?

Hands down, two people that I am fortunate to call friends, who believed in me when I was just a young mama trying to make everything work while working at a salon. They trusted me to come on board and help run their marketing team at Canada’s largest mortgage company, knowing full well I didn’t have formal marketing training or experience. During my time working with them they showed me true leadership, always leading by example and showing kindness and empathy above all else, while somehow holding everyone to an incredible standard. I am forever grateful for all of the experiences they afforded me with, both business and personal. They changed my life in many ways and set me on a path that I never imagined for myself.

Q. What is your number one business goal to accomplish this year?

I’m doubling down on building my email list because I know that email marketing (when done right) outperforms all other digital mediums, and the return on my time is incredible. I’m excited to provide value to my subscribers in my weekly emails (all about social media content marketing), and even more excited to see how I can showcase my social media content membership to these subscribers to give them precious time back in their lives that creating content is sucking out!

Q. Do you have a mantra or phrase that you live by?

Sure do! I literally have it tattooed down my spine… It says, “kindness is always the right choice.” Pretty self-explanatory, but it’s how I choose to live my life and how I try to inspire my children and friends to live by this also.

Q. What is your favourite thing about your career and why?

It’s hard to pick one thing because there are many! The most obvious is that I can do what I do (social media content marketing for entrepreneurs and small businesses) from anywhere in the world, which allows me to work where I want, when I want, and spend all the time in the world with my four children and husband. But for me it’s so much more than this. Over the last 8+ years in business, I’ve created systems to manage social media marketing faster while still creating awesome content, and I now get to see other entrepreneurs and business owners put their own spin on my systems and get their own time back. I get to see them grow in new ways on social media and I watch them do more of what they actually love doing (spoiler alert, it’s usually spending time with their families too!). It’s very rewarding, and it makes me feel extra committed and provides strength to keep going in business.
