Ten years ago, I was building my Holistic Nutrition business. As with any business, I made a simple business transaction; I purchased some equipment, paid upfront ($8,000) and expected the delivery. After 6 months, I was still waiting for my delivery and trying to negotiate with the vendor. I finally said enough is enough. I remember feeling that maybe this was the time, for the first time, it would make sense to call a lawyer.
After phoning three local law firms, I felt discouraged. It was going to cost a few more thousands of dollars to maybe get my $8,000 back from this dishonest vendor. It was a financial decision I could not make.
In our society, we have the elite that have lawyers on retainer as well we have low-income people that can access Legal Aid when they are in need. The other 80% of our society must pay as they can afford, so most people never will call a lawyer in their lifetime. It is not a financial decision they can make.
In comes LegalShield, with the promise of helping myself and anyone for a nominal monthly fee. I jumped at the value, used the service, and today, I would say, the rest is history.
LegalShield helped me every step of the way with that one legal issue. The empowerment that I felt with the access to my rights was a game changer for me.
Fast forward 10 years and I have now become the Regional Director of BC and Saskatchewan for LegalShield. What I do is protect and empower both families and businesses, to know their rights in any situation. My organization have enrolled over 10,000 families and businesses and that is over all North America. LegalShield is a 50-year-old company, we have evolved over the years into the fasting growing Legal services for families, businesses, and an employee benefit coverage.
There are not very many times in your life where something comes along that makes you stop and take a pivotal change to your career. I have been able to make a difference in people’s lives and made a living by doing that. My journey has been full of personal development, leadership, and a true experience of entrepreneurial success.
With my experience in LegalShield, I have been able to become a leader of my team, a leader in the company and now have stepped into a leadership role within my community. I have been recently elected as the Board President of the South Surrey White Rock Chamber of Commerce and I am proud to stand up for the advocacy of businesses. Through the services I can provide with LegalShield and my influence through the Chamber, my passion for stepping up and making a difference is paramount.
