Andrea Ross is a Canadian stunt performer in film and television.
I am a Canadian stunt performer in film and television. On camera, I get the awesome privilege of fighting, flipping, and falling for some of today’s top actresses. Off-camera, my free time is filled with kiteboarding, mountain biking, skiing, and hiking in my own backyard of Squamish, Canada. I have been an athlete my whole life, and I like to consider myself a skill collector. Always wanting to learn something new from others with expertise to share.
The thing that motivates me to get up and going most days is knowing that if I am not putting in the work, someone out there is. I believe my hunger for success comes from my father. He was an entrepreneur who built his company into what it is today, while simultaneously attending almost every athletic or academic event for his four children. From him, I learned the value of building something for yourself, and giving back to the community that helped you get there.
The biggest lesson I have learned from my own failures is to find ways not to fear them. To trust that it holds a place in my journey. To learn what I can strengthen to succeed the next time. To enlist help from one of my many resources to overcome the obstacle, or to deviate and honour a different path. Not easy to learn, but it has been most useful.
Over the past year, I have co-created the Live Your Fierce Project with my former boss and long-time friend, Amber Read. The LYF Project is a community and leadership platform where women find their fierce, share their journeys with other women, and find ways to live their fierce in their daily lives.
I am lucky to have built my coaching and stunting career off of the mutual energy, guidance, and enthusiasm of other women who are killing it in their respective pursuits. I think it is so important to share one’s journey. The impact has a rippling effect, and I believe more and more women are finding ways to pursue their own success, their own fierce. I believe the LYF Project and Pursuit:365 are wonderful examples of just that.
