Lynda is a visual artist concerned with the experience of time spent looking and interpreting the natural world. She is drawn to places which have an abundance of nature, birds, flora and wildlife. She is inspired by the full sensory experience of time spent outdoors and has completed a wildlife series of larger oil paintings specifically archiving subjects within Northern Ontario. Her interest in wildlife and now more purposely painting birds dates back to early childhood days spent on the family farm sketching with her father. Today, the artist’s work includes paintings of loons, barred owls, eagles, red tailed hawks and great blue herons. Including, smaller migration bird studies completed in acrylics. She attempts to capture the changes in bird migration emphasizing the differences and diversity of the region.
Lynda continually expands her portfolio while studying her love of wildlife in nature near her Southern home in Ontario adding to her bird migration series. In 2020, five of her paintings were juried into the International Artists show and she was awarded a one-year residency with the Camelback Gallery. At this time, her home studio is open for visits by appointment only. She also offers a safe pickup or delivery and can be contacted at lynda.inthestudio@gmail.com.
