Growing up in Alberta, family was everything. I had little concept of money, or the value of things. My father, a brilliant mechanic, often worked for free or discounted rates. He wanted to help people while raising his family and worked hard for every penny he earned. When he wasn’t working, he was spending time with family, making memories. He was full of JOY.
Because of my humble beginning, happiness and stability were paramount to me when I started my own family. Losing parents at a young age taught me the value of the transfer of knowledge. My children experiencing joy and having financial security were integral to me. In my pursuit of this, I found my life’s calling.
In the first few months of my career, fresh out of business studies, I found this new world where there was an abundance of money. Not coming from money, I was both surprised and excited at the prospect that with knowledge and education, not only could I help others find financial freedom, I could also do so for myself and my little family. So began my journey for financial stability and the pursuit of JOY, intertwined!
I learned quickly that financial freedom doesn’t mean having a lot of money or making the correct investments, it means having a plan and making the right decisions. I learned that financial freedom doesn’t have to come at the cost of happiness and joy.
Armed with this knowledge, I began my career goal – helping others in their own financial pursuits. I teach my clients that to achieve financial gain, they need not sacrifice their joy! We can achieve both!
With this came Desabrais Wealth Management, the firm I created. I utilized both my education and experiences and incorporated my own bit of passion. In this, I have an outlet for human connection where clients become like family; where I spend my time pursuing JOY while my clients chase theirs. I’m most powerful when I’m helping clients, family and friends plan for their futures and live their dreams. I aim to EMPOWER, EDUCATE and create FINANCIAL FREEDOM for clients so they can pursue their dreams, as I am mine!
