Soul Integration Guide and Bestselling Co-Author Jessica Séguin has more than two decades of experience in helping both men and women achieve growth spiritually, personally, and professionally.
What has been the greatest shift in your career or life and how did you navigate through it?
I’ve had a few major shifts throughout my career! In my 20’s, I left a stable government position to launch a consulting business. While I had the knowledge to perform the consulting work, I wanted to do, I didn’t have the skills to actually run a business. I’ve had a few different career incarnations, but each of them ended in layoffs. So, I finally took the hint that it was time for me to truly launch my business, for real this time, using all the lessons learned from past glitches.
What’s the biggest lesson you learned from failure?
Past failure absolutely does not equal future failure. It’s necessary to help you learn what works and what doesn’t work; as long as you don’t keep repeating the same mistakes and find growth from those unpleasant experiences.
What is a goal you always had that you have now achieved?
To be an expert in my field! My education has not been conventional or linear; I have ADHD and am not cut out for the typical academic path. For the longest time I thought I could only be recognized as an expert via a university degree, but I’ve learned that there are many paths to excellence.
What was the hardest part about getting started? How did you resolve it?
I didn’t have any huge cash infusions to make big investments towards my practice, so for the longest time I “shoe-stringed” it. I kept that mindset for a long time, but as my business has evolved, I’ve learned the importance of reinvesting into myself; professionally, personally, and when it comes to materials and infrastructure. Do not skimp on outsourcing and support!
What are you up to right now that people should know about?
I’ve recently launched “Illumination Mastermind” to make my services more accessible in a group setting; the next cohort will open up in the Fall.
