Katherine owns a private 10-acre vineyard estate on the Naramata Bench in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. She has studied wine and viticulture all over the world and now makes a living as a wine writer and educator. Sharing her passion is what keeps Katherine motivated. To have a dream for so long and for it to turn into reality is truly a miracle to be part of even though so put in the hard work. It’s an example of what happens when you never give up!
Do you have a mantra or phrase you live by? What is it?
“There is no chance, no destiny and no fate that can circumvent hinder or control the firm resolve of a determined soul”.
If you could give your past self some advice, what would you tell yourself?
I always said, “don’t ever, ever give up!”
That is the same advice I would give myself and others again today.
What makes you motivated on a daily basis?
I have always been self-motivated. I know that if it must be then it is up to me. No one does the work for you. It’s up to you to do all the hard work and heavy lifting. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity! I feel lucky to be living my dream and making a living in the wine business which is something I am passionate about.
What is your favourite thing about what you do in your career and why?
I own a 10-acre vineyard on the Naramata bench in the Okanagan Valley. One of the most beautiful places on earth. It has been my dream for decades to own a vineyard. I work as a wine educator and wine writer, and I am thrilled to share my passion with others.

What is something you have going on right now?
Noble Ridge Winery just released its very first Traditional Champagne Method “Blanc de Blanc” Sparkling Wine in Magnum format with “McEachnie Vintage” on the label!! I am so grateful for this incredible honour that has been bestowed upon me. It was a secret for 3 years while aging in their cellars. The Press release was Canada Day at the winery in a small celebration. Tears of joy, sabering of the Magnum and sipping the delicious bubbly all took place. I was damed as part of their Nobility Knights series. My community spirit, giving back to others and kindness was recognized in this magnificent way!
