If you could give your past self some advice, what would you tell yourself?
To be more patient with myself and others, you will get there! Often it is hard when you can see a path and not feel like it is ever going to happen or if it’s not happening fast enough. Funny thing is if you slow down… things are happening all around you! The impact you’re having now is just as real as the future.
Do you have a mantra or phrase you live by? What is it?
If you can’t feel good, you might as well look good!
There are many days where life is hard and your spirits are down, but this phrase has reminded me to compartmentalize things and to be focused on showing up in the moment I need to be present for. Being joyful and present is a choice. Ps. This doesn’t mean you don’t show vulnerability, it’s just being selective when you do.
What is your number one business goal this year?
One of my business partners says it best… “Keep it moving!” Keep growing who we serve, helping more leaders to live and lead deliberately.
What is your number one priority when it comes to your career and daily work?
The number one priority is to make good choices for the day. Not to focus on balance as it is a fable, we tell ourselves we can achieve. This just sets us up to not achieve. By making good choices for the day, I can accomplish the right things that are moving towards the big goals. Also, this allows me flexibility to choose family and the other important parts of my life without any guilt.
What is your favourite thing about what you do in your career and why?
I have lots of favourite things, but my favourite is having the privilege to learn from leaders that have entrusted me with their personal and business growth.
I also love that I get to work with partners that are truly amazing! It is an honour to work with them. It’s an environment where I keep learning and growing.
What makes you motivated on a daily basis? My boys! Not just providing for them but modeling to their integrity, hard work and affection. The opportunity to enrich the lives of others through my personal success.
