Lauren Labas is an opportunity-creator and marketing savant.
After 15 years of marketing large corporate investment projects, in late 2019 it was time to source a new project, a new idea, and I wanted it to be exciting. I could feel my life taking a shift. Yearning to market something I was passionate about – something adventurous and fun.
Having grown up in the touristic Okanagan region of B.C. I fell in love with its beauty all over again, visiting Penticton the last few summers with my girlfriends. Scenic sandy Okanagan beaches, a winery every 400 feet with stunning patio lake vistas, were what attracted me and my friends to this region. The problem was, we never had enough time to visit where we wanted to go and did not even touch what this region had to offer. The more we saw the more we knew we had to experience.
Knowing it’s about making connections and relationships; I organized a large tradeshow to bring the Okanagan to Vancouver! A place of connection, joy, and festival. To bond with the exhibitors, I bought, outfitted, and took to the Okanagan with my new RV digital remote office hub! I wanted to create, experience, and define a vision for my audience. Experience for myself what I wanted to create for my Vancouver VIPs at the festival. Showcase the best experiences the Okanagan and Vancouver Island had to offer.
Then a pandemic! My Vancouver wine festival could not happen in 2020, but my website established me on the ground in the Okanagan with Vancouver VIPs having questions on how to connect with the Okanagan and the Island – time to push forward and develop something new. This challenge excited me.
I had solutions for everyone. On my first trip out with my RV, I decided to enjoy the summer on beautiful Skaha Lake, Penticton, BC. It was one of the best summers I have had in a long time. Stepping back from the city, I bought a smart hub for wireless internet, and developed websites from the lake!
My vision was to learn about where I was. I recast my vision to be www.bcwineworld.com I hired a wonderful new friend and International Champagne Judge to help work with wineries. We offer wineries professional wine writing services and digital marketing. The government is in full support of this endeavour and has approved me for a $25,000 grant to launch this initiative to support BC Wineries!
