If you could give your past self some advice, what would you tell yourself?
Growing up with a strict, regimented and perfectly laid out plan for a way of life, I wish I’d understood these three phrases…
1) even the best-laid plans…
2) nothing in life is ever guaranteed…
3) no one said it was going to be fair…
At least I discovered, even back then, a beautiful way to cope or deal with life’s unplanned and tough situations we all may come to face, I wrote. I learned that writing was a means to cope, find my courage, and find my voice, and now I am an advocate for spreading the word to use ‘expressive’ writing as a means to find yours.

Do you have a mantra or phrase you live by? What is it?
At this time in my life Life’s journey, I would like to share these:
“Writing is the way I walk through the world: I can write my way through anything… (and so can you…)”
I know now that when I am backed into a corner, I can write my way out of it. I believe that given the opportunity, others can, too.
“I believe ‘expressive’ writing is an untapped and under-utilized resource in our personal healing, and it is a powerful accompaniment to our personal developmental strategies…”
What is your number one business goal this year?
As a result of several stressful and life-altering situations over the past few years, I have found myself focused and home in on coping, surviving, and healing. Therefore, my goal this year is to finish and publish 3 books, Your Power To Heal is Real, affirmations, poetry and prose; Messages From The Afterlife, messages from a canine view; and The Poetry Prescription, Poetry & Prose of The Pandemic, a poetry book through COVID, which I illustrated myself.
This year also, my goal is to actively market my 8 published eBooks on Amazon (one on iBooks).
What is your number one priority when it comes to your career and daily work?
Firstly, I have developed a working strategy to dedicate the first part of my day, every day, to my writing. When I wake up, I simply start writing. This is also when I take the time to learn new things, my “iPad U” time. I am a bit of a sponge, so I am constantly trying to learn new things, I’m also fiercely independent, as well as a tad stubborn, so I want to do and accomplish a lot of things by myself.
What is your favourite thing about what you do in your career and why?
My completed written works gift me a sense of accomplishment. There is nothing more rewarding in the world that opening the pages and enjoying reading your own work. I feel that several of my books have captured pieces of the best times of my life, reworked and preserved in some way, shape or form into the characters or stories on the pages. The feelings of accomplishment and achievement, the feeling of success in getting it out there, are the biggest contributors to feelings of happiness, self-confidence, and gratitude.
Secondly, I am grateful when I see a smile on someone’s face or am verbally thanked for something I have written and shared to celebrate another human. Seeing and hearing someone else’s joy for what I have written is an incredible blessing.
