Courtney Powell graduated with a Specialized Honours in Studio Art from York University in Toronto, ON. She is an active painter in BC. Courtney has exhibited her work at many galleries and public spaces, including the TELUS World of Science (Body Works Exhibit), Vancouver Public Library, UBC, Sheila Wong Fashion Design Studio, The ACT Arts Centre, Port Moody Arts Centre, and The Gales Gallery in Toronto.
Lover of raccoons, butterflies, fairies, and fiction, Courtney was drawing with crayons before elementary school. She is particularly drawn to small animals with tails and insects with spotted wings. Her artwork is a mixture of expressionism, abstraction, surrealism, and cartoon-like realism.

Courtney enjoys working with children and believes that creativity should be embraced and developed at an early age. Courtney was previously featured in the Piece of Mind exhibit, an initiative of the BC Psychological Association. Her thoughts can be read here.
