Katayoon Webb is an award-winning Real Estate agent in Vancouver with 15 years of consistent high-level achievements leading in her industry. She is also an incredible abstract artist, having studied art from a young age and eventually graduating with a Fine Arts degree from Concordia University. What really sets her apart is how she has found a way to incorporate art into her real estate career. She is the owner of For The Art of Real Estate staging company, she stages every home she sells and often includes her original art as part of the staging if the home can benefit from it.
I came into Real Estate from a background in management of high-end fashion retail, where every expensive garment was perfectly showcased, and every client was serviced impeccably. I realized selling a home was no different. I needed to showcase my product at its absolute best and give my client the finest experience. I simply obsess about every detail when preparing a home for sale. My background in fashion, fine arts, and design helped me achieve the best results for my sellers. Incorporating staging and art was just a necessary part of my marketing plan as so many homes benefitted from it. Being able to include my art in the process of selling real estate has been a really fun and fulfilling thing. The art can transform an otherwise boring space and can give it feelings. The art can also make a lasting impression on my clients when I offer it to them as a gift if they are an art fan of course.

On a more personal note, the obsession with homes started early on. Being a queer woman of colour emigrating from an oppressive country at a young age, and that sense of not quite ever belonging to either here or there at that time, whether it was due to my race, my orientation confusion, or gender, gave me that feeling of metaphoric homelessness. It took a lot of courage to fight for the life I wanted to have for me and my family and to overcome all of the adversity that comes with when you try to live a life outside of the norm the society has set. You can read more about that in the actual book part of Pursuit:365 so I won’t spoil that here for you.
Selling real estate provided me with the ability to find physical homes for my clients. It is an incredible experience to help a family with their often single most important financial asset- their HOME! I feel really honoured to be able to help people with a place they can feel at home in, where they live, love, and prosper from the investment. This has been the most rewarding and fulfilling part of my job. I often ask my clients I know it is a house you like, but will it feel like home? If yes, then let’s go for it and let me negotiate the absolute best deal I can for you.

I just simply put my heart and art into it! My success is just the by-product of that. I feel so much gratitude for this career that has afforded me to be exactly who I am, I feel gratitude for my art that is often my outlet to keep me sane, yet the result is often a beautiful piece that can bring emotions and feeling to an otherwise bare room. I feel gratitude for my out-of-the-box family that supports me in every way so I can be successful and provide for them. I am grateful for this country that has now become my home where I hundred percent belong and has allowed me to live true to who I am and hopefully inspire my children to live their truth.
