What makes an opportunity exciting to you – in business or in life?
Alignment. Core values as a beacon are key. As well, opportunities and experiences where I can lean into my gifts to help others are juicy. There are lots of subtle clues and typically my intuition speaks loudly when a new opportunity presents itself.
When you first started your career, how did you know you were ready and what made you start?
Well, I’ve had a few different starts over the years. One that seems most significant was when I re-entered the workforce after having been at home with my kiddos when they were little. My corporate career wasn’t something I wanted to return to as it felt soul-sucking, to be honest.
I was living in this in-between place where I felt divided. On the one hand, I felt fulfilled being a mom, wife, friend, and all the things – AND I felt INVISIBLE. I’d lost a part of ME in the equation.
Enter one of my first businesses. It found me. It was a manifestation of a silent longing I had. It looked like nothing I actually had wanted and yet, I felt compelled to follow my curiosity and the whisper of my intuition.
When we get quiet, we can hear the guidance.
If you could give your past self some advice, what would you tell you?
You will be OK. Life events may feel serious and, it doesn’t mean that you always have to be.
What are you up to right now that people should know about?
For those at a crossroads or those in a life review and restarting phase, knowing your Super Powers (Sacred Gifts) is invaluable. We’re each born with unique sacred gifts and when we can lean into them, it creates more ease, flow, and serendipity in life and business.
I offer workshops that guide women in discovering their gifts and how to leverage them to feel the satisfaction of living more purposefully. Feeling lost or itchy? My group workshops or 1:1 sessions may fit well.
The other offering I have on the go relates to health, wellness, and beauty.
Rolling out of 2020 and into this new year, health and wellness are at the forefront for all.
As a Founding Member and leader with Beautycounter, the leading clean beauty brand in Canada and the US, I offer education about the importance of switching to cleaner, safer products, and I advocate for more health-protective laws in Canada. Our skin is our largest organ and what we put on it matters because it can have health implications.
I offer 1:1 as well as small group sessions sharing education and suggestions for making clean swaps.
Lately, I’m hearing from clients that they’d like to emerge out of this physically distant, “cocooning” stage as a butterfly – as their own best selves. Practicing healthy rituals around skin and personal care is part of that self-care mix.
