Barb Pearson moved from a condominium downtown to a 20-acre organic flower farm and together with her family has just created a venue for workshops and special events.
If I could give myself some past advice I would have said not to worry so much and spend so much effort trying to make things “perfect”. Way too much energy is expended being anxious about things that never happen and being concerned about what others think of us. I am finally learning to let those things go.

Our number one business goal is to create a place where people can come stay, lead an event, teach a class or celebrate a special occasion on our farm.
We have just finished creating accommodation for 10 and a place where we can offer workshops, retreats, special events and more and are starting to take bookings. We are rebranding from our farm Early Bird Family Farm, to Sage and Solace, Farm Stays and Venue. We are excited about having instructors offer multiple-day workshops to participants who can stay on our farm.
My favourite thing about what I am doing is watching people who come to our organic farm explore the gardens as well as working with the creatives that come to take photos, make art, and creative people who come to take photos, make art, and teach classes. Lastly, I love seeing people be elated about having a special occasion on our farm.
