It was a love for all things artistic that guided Holly Decker toward a career in Makeup Artistry. A creative person by nature, Holly first discovered affection and affinity for her craft in Victoria, B.C. when she studied aesthetics in school. Makeup stood out as a medium that offered endless possibilities.
Over the last seventeen years, Holly has explored the field with passion. She has become trusted by celebrities, having worked with personalities like Arlene Dickinson, Magic Johnson, Jessi Cruickshank, Madeline Merlo, E Talk Host Michaella Shannon, and the many stars of events like WE Day and Canadian Country Music Awards. Holly’s work has graced many magazine pages including those of Toast, Elevate, Canadian Hairdresser, and national publication Fresh Magazine, at which she was recently appointed Beauty Editor. Whether lending her artistry to major campaigns for Beauty Brand Super Sk.in or Hellman’s or as part of a collaborative team, building the brand of an artist or model, Holly is always driven by the desire to learn and to push herself to grow as an artist.
Industry accolades include being a finalist for the Contessa Awards’ MUA of the Year, the Mirror Awards’ Canadian MUA of the year, the SABEX awards’ Entrepreneur of the Year, and the distinction of being named Key MUA for the prestigious Sask Fashion Week two years in a row. Holly continually grows her breadth of knowledge making her a leader in the industry—her Beauty Blender sales and education from Montreal, for example, saw her become a national representative for the company and local Sephora trainer.
For Holly, makeup is a way to celebrate beauty in all its forms, people in their diversity, and her own personal desire to create. Whether her clients are A-list musicians or actors, models, brides, graduates, or everyday people wanting to try something new, Holly never forgets a face and truly appreciates that she is able to foster personal connections while expressing herself through art.
